The EQ Kiosk constructed in the Canberra City Mall, was a unique and elegant design initially completed by the client to suit the brand and building owner requirements. ACT homes were engaged to obtain the Building Approval and complete the construction works all within an 8-week period. Following contract execution, ACT Homes worked collaboratively with the client, property owner and design consultants to heavily modify the design package to obtain the Building Approval within the first 2 weeks. The design changes allowed ACT Homes to simplify the design and to be in alignment with base build services & provisions. The changes were also made to suit materials availability and ease of construction. The design modifications were necessary to allow ACT Homes to finalise a construction methodology to suit the limitations and logistics of working in an operational mall and procure specific materials that were available within the construction program requirements. Through strategic procurement, design modifications and after hour works, the project was delivered within a 6 weeks period from Building Approval.
