The EQ Kiosk, located within the Canberra City Mall, was a unique and high-end retail fitout designed to align with both brand requirements and landlord expectations. ACT Homes were engaged to secure Building Approval and deliver the construction within an accelerated programme. Following contract execution, our team worked closely with the client, property owner, and design consultants to refine and modify the design, successfully obtaining Building Approval within two weeks. These design changes simplified the build, aligned the works with base building services, and addressed material availability and constructability constraints.

Given the challenges of working within a live retail environment, ACT Homes developed a tailored construction methodology incorporating staged works, after-hours construction, and strategic procurement. This approach ensured minimal disruption to surrounding tenancies while maintaining programme certainty. The project was successfully delivered within six weeks from Building Approval, demonstrating ACT Homes’ ability to adapt design, manage complex logistics, and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
