The EQ Bakehouse Brindabella project involved the transformation of a 432sqm cold shell commercial tenancy into a café restaurant with a fully operational commercial kitchen, delivered in line with franchise design guidelines. ACT Homes were engaged to undertake both the design and construction phases, providing a full end-to-end service.

The project was completed within a 12-week programme, comprising six weeks of design development followed by six weeks of construction. The fitout incorporated several high-end and technically complex architectural elements, including topping slabs designed to achieve a polished concrete floor finish, core drilling through structural beams, bespoke joinery, custom hanging planters, feature metal works and feature walls.

These elements required detailed coordination with engineers, base building constraints, and careful construction sequencing to ensure quality and compliance. The result is a refined and functional hospitality space that balances design intent with practical delivery.
